First visit flow
The fastest way to calm a nervous client is to remove surprises. Every step has a job, and you can ask questions at any of them.
Share the idea, area of the body, rough size, budget comfort, and any references.
The studio helps confirm suitability, timing, and whether a walk-in or booked slot is best.
Come fed, hydrated, with ID, and wearing clothing that gives easy access to the placement area.
Leave with clear aftercare guidance and a simple way to ask follow-up questions.
Why it feels safer
Walking into a tattoo or piercing studio for the first time can feel intimidating. Everything here is set up so you can ask, then decide.
Boardwalk Mall gives first-timers a familiar, visible destination with parking, food, and public foot traffic.
WhatsApp keeps the first step low-pressure. Check price range, pain concerns, and timing before booking.
Hygiene, jewelry, skin prep, and aftercare are visible across the whole journey — not buried in fine print.
Until portfolio media is supplied, visuals are treated as branded style boards rather than client results.
From the chair
Real experiences from clients who came in nervous and left confident. These are the kinds of stories we aim to create every day.
They walked me through every step, asked about my anxiety, and made the whole thing feel doable. I’d send anyone here.
Got my helix done. Clean setup, the right jewelry, and aftercare instructions I actually understood.
Honest about what would suit my forearm and what wouldn’t. No upselling. Loved the result.
Quick answers
No question is too basic. Here are the ones that come up most often before a first appointment.
Pain varies by placement and personal tolerance. Bony areas like ribs, spine, and ankles tend to be more sensitive. Fleshy areas like the upper arm and thigh are generally more comfortable. Most people describe it as a scratching or burning sensation — manageable and temporary. Your artist will check in with you throughout.
Walk-ins are welcome when the studio has availability. For tattoos, piercings, and jewelry consultations, messaging first is strongly recommended — it means your artist can prepare, and you avoid waiting or being turned away. A quick WhatsApp message takes 30 seconds and saves you the trip.
Tattoos start from R600 for small pieces. Piercings start from R250 for standard placements (ear, nose, navel) and include basic jewelry. Non-standard piercings (tongue, industrial, lip) are R300, dermals R350, and surface piercings R400. Adding a second piercing in the same session saves you R50–R100. Message the studio for an accurate quote on your specific idea.
Bring valid ID (required for all services, and essential for minors who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). Eat a proper meal beforehand and stay hydrated. Wear clothing that gives easy access to the placement area. If you have reference images, bring them on your phone or printed out. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Tattoos typically take 2–4 weeks for surface healing and up to 3 months for full skin healing. Piercings vary widely: earlobes heal in 6–8 weeks, cartilage can take 6–12 months. You will receive clear aftercare instructions before you leave. If anything looks unusual during healing, message the studio — early questions are always better than late problems.
